| Decisions taken, we planted our first vines in the spring of 1991. We then went on holiday, and returned to wonder why our new vines were not growing! Answer- Britain had suffered the worst June frosts for 25 years, and most of our project was dead! The fact that it caused pain in the French regions of Burgundy and Bordeaux was of little comfort. |

| We lost all but 130 Sauvignon Blanc vines! The following year we showed some caution, and only replanted half the area; if these had also failed it would have been back to the drawing board! Happily they prospered, and we persevered. Our first 2 tunnels were erected over the surviving Sauvignon vines in 1994, and we are now up to our full capacity of 14 tunnels growing Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, | |
| Our first vintage of Sauvignon Blanc was produced in 1995, and sold out in days to family and
friends. Since then the other varieties have come on stream, producing red and white wines.
We currently produce a white wine - Sauvignon Blanc, a red wine - Pinot
Noir and in 2007 our sparkling wine (a blend of Chardonnay & Pinot
Noir) should be ready .
Our capacity will never be high, but our quality is. |
