St Julien 2010 Limited Edition – NEW Best Bordeaux WineIntroducing the best bordeaux wine in our list. “I reckon the 2010 St. Julien, from one of the commune’s ‘Super Seconds’, noted for its well draining, beautiful pebbles, is about as good a claret as you can get for less than twenty quid (the Grand Vin sells for around £165). It’s traditional red bordeaux: concentrated and intense with dark, dark fruit, whiffs of cedar and cigar and a classic firm finish.” – Jonathan Ray, The Spectator |

Saint-Émilion: Bordeaux 2012Next on our best bordeaux wine list is the 2012 “declassified” St. Émilion is predominantly Merlot sourced exclusively from the vineyards and cellars of one of Saint-Émilion’s top Châteaux, the Grand Vin of which sells for 15-20 times the price. |

Sauternes, Bordeaux 2012The marvellously complex 2012 Sauternes, from the region’s most famous property of all. It might not boast the profound flavours of the grand vin, but at this price it’s an absolute corker. Sadly, this will be the last such parcel from this beyond-illustrious estate, since henceforward they will be putting all their surplus production into a second label wine (which will retail for many times this modest price). |

Pauillac 2014It was vinified in exactly the same way as the the Chateau label for 1/20th of the price…for those of us who can’t afford £4000+a case this is as good as it gets. This is the penultimate wine on our best bordeaux wine list. |
